Tresia Jonas named second runner-up at Miss Oshikuku Trade Fair 2026

OSHIKUKU – Jonas joined her first Miss Oshikuku Annual Trade Fair pageant which took place on the 3rd October 2026, and walked away with the second runner-up title at the miss Oshikuku Annual Trade Fair pageant, held in Oshikuku town, a result the 18-year-old describes as a happy surprise.

“I felt overwhelmed I wasn’t really expecting it, but I felt good,” Jonas said after the pageant. She had hoped to win, but she is already looking ahead. “I won’t give up,” she said. Jonas decided to enter after hearing other contestants rave about the 2025 edition. Yvonne Hamunyela is the new miss Oshikuku Annual Trade Fair pageant, with Josephine Shaapopi crowned first runner-up.

Away from the stage, she studies Network Engineering at the National Institute of Technology. She also speaks to young people about youth empowerment and mental health. She describes herself as a book’s person, so pageant practice gets a few hours and the rest of her time goes to school and rest.

Her journey began in 2024, when she placed second runner-up at Miss Teen Ongwediva as a Grade 11 learner at Ongwediva secondary school. The community saw potential in her, and that encouragement kept her going for more pageants. At the pageant her outfits for traditional wear, swimwear, career wear and evening wear were sponsored by a local tailer Yvonne Hamunyela who owns Vony Designs. It has not always been easy Jonas said nerves build before every competition, and finding money for registration fees and essentials is a struggle. Still, she has her sights set on Miss NGO and Miss Petite, with Miss Namibia as the long-term dream. She laughs that she may be a bit short for that crown.

Her message to the young girls is simple “Baby girl believe in the beauty of your dreams,” take up what you love and don’t be afraid of the world because everything is in your hands.”
